Which cameras work with this app?

The app supports only HomeKit-enabled cameras. Here is the list of the supported cameras.

My camera isn't showing

If your cameras are not showing HomeCam, please try the following troubleshooting steps. If these fail, please contact us.

  • Make sure your cameras are connected and showing within Apple's Home app.
  • Ensure you have applied all updates to your cameras.
  • If you have a Logitech Circle 2, ensure it is streaming at 720p resolution. Logitech's implementation for HomeKit does not function correctly at 1080p.
  • For Homebridge camera issues, see below.
  • Apple limits streaming when remotely accessing to only two cameras simultaneously. A future update will allow HomeCam to fallback to snapshots when neccessary.

My Logitech Circle 2 isn't showing

Please change your Circle 2 to stream at 720p within the Logi Circle app. Logitech's implementation of HomeKit fails to stream reliably when set to 1080p.

My eufyCam 2/2C isn't showing all cameras

The eufyCam 2/2C has a hardware/firmware limitation in it's hub which means only a single camera can stream at once. Please contact eufy support regarding this.

Homebridge issues

Running cameras via Homebridge is resource intensive, if you wish to run more than one camera via Homebridge with HomeCam, you will need a suitable machine to run your instance of Homebridge on, a Raspberry Pi is not suited to this duty.

  • Ensure Homebridge is up to date and all camera related plugins are up to date.
  • Check if your camera plugin has had a recent update if not, it may not support multiple streams at once.

Known updated and working plugins:

  • homebridge-camera-ffmpeg
  • homebridge-nest-cam
  • homebridge-camera-rpi

Why can I not stream audio on Apple TV?

Currently Apple does not allow HomeKit cameras to stream audio on Apple TV. This is a limitation set by Apple within their developer tools. We have opened a ticket within their system to hopefully have this changed in the future.

What shows in Data Layers?

Currently Data Layers supports the following data points, temperature, humidity, air quality, motion detection and carbon dioxide levels. It will read these if they are individual HomeKit services, not combined like in a thermostat. More data layers are coming in the future.

How can I get a refund?

If you experience a problem with the app, here are the instructions on how to request your refund directly from Apple.
